Draft Anti-Retaliation Guidance Document

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration prepared a draft document to provide guidance to employers establishing anti-retaliation programs, and sought comments from all interested parties.

The comment period closed on Jan. 19, 2016.

Protecting Whistleblowers: Recommended Practices for Employers for Preventing and Addressing Retaliation

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration prepared a draft document* intended to help employers develop a program to protect employees from retaliation when they raise concerns about workplace conditions or activities that could harm workers or members of the public. Comments were accepted until Jan. 19, 2016. They can be viewed by clicking the Read Comments button in the right column. OSHA is reviewing all comments received at this time.

The draft document is based on recommendations of the Whistleblower Protection Advisory Committee in Best Practices for Protecting Whistleblowers and Preventing and Addressing Retaliation*.
